Dr. Abdella Battou leads the Cloud Computing Program.Before joining NIST in 2012, Dr. Abdella served as the Executive Director of The Mid-Atlantic Crossroads (MAX) GigaPop founded by The University Of Maryland, The George Washington University, The Georgetown University and The Virginia Polytechnic Institute.
From 2000 to 2009, he was Chief Technology Officer, and Vice President of Research and Development for Lambda OpticalSystems, where he was responsible for overseeing the company's system architectures, hardware design and software development teams. Additionally, he served as senior research scientist for the Naval Research Laboratory's high speed networking group, Center for Computational Sciences from 1992 to 2000.
Dr. Battou holds a PhD and MSEE in Electrical Engineering from the Catholic University of America.
Dr. Robert Bohn serves as Program Manager for the NIST Cloud Computing Program. In this role, he manages and coordinates the goals and strategy of the program and also works with industrial, academic and other government stakeholders to develop the US Government Cloud Computing Technology Roadmap (NIST SP 500-293). This roadmap contains the highest priority requirements in security, interoperability and portability to ensure a safe & secure adoption of cloud computing for the USG.
Previously, Dr. Bohn served as the Technical Coordinator for the High End Computing Interagency Working Group (HEC-IWG) at National Coordination Office of the Networking and Information Technology Research and Development (NITRD) under the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP). He now serves as a co-chair for the FASTER Community of Practice under the NITRD Program.
He was a recipient of a National Research Council fellowship at NASA Ames Research Center in Moffett Field, CA, received Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Illinois.
For many years, Jim Reavis has worked in the information security industry as an entrepreneur, writer, speaker, technologist and business strategist. Jim's innovative thinking about emerging security trends have been published and presented widely throughout the industry and have influenced many. Jim is helping shape the future of information security and related technology industries as co-founder, CEO and driving force of the Cloud Security Alliance. Jim was recently named as one of the Top 10 cloud computing leaders by SearchCloudComputing.com.
Jim is the President of Reavis Consulting Group, LLC, where he advises security companies, governments, large enterprises and other organizations on the implications of new trends such as Cloud and Mobility and how to take advantage of them.
Jim has previously been an international board member of the ISSA, a global not for profit association of information security professionals and formerly served as the association's Executive Director. Jim founded SecurityPortal, the Internet's largest website devoted to information security in 1998, and guided it until a successful exit in 2000.
Jim has been an advisor on the launch of many industry ventures that have achieved a successful M&A exit or IPO. Jim is widely quoted in the press and has worked with hundreds of corporations on their information security strategy and technology roadmap. Jim has a background in networking technologies, marketing, product management and systems integration. Jim received a B.A. in Business Administration / Computer Science from Western Washington University in 1987 and formerly served on WWU's alumni board.
Eric Simmon is a systems expert in the Electronic Information Group (EIG) at the National Institute of Standards of Technology. He graduated magna cum laude from Worcester, Polytechnic Institute (Worcester, MA) with an electrical engineering degree in 1989.
That same year he joined the National Institute of Standards and Technology to work on precision measurements for high voltage and high current. In 2003 he joined the EIG working on using systems modeling to improve the standards development process.
He is presently leading the NIST cloud computing SLA effort and is project editor for the ISO/IEC 19086-2 “Service Level Agreement (SLA) framework and terminology - Metrics”.
Frederic is a senior software engineer specializing in the analysis, design and development of software applications. He earned a master’s degree in computer science from ESIAL France in 2003 and has served as technical lead on several projects.
Frederic has been involved in the NIST Cloud Computing Program since January 2011, first as part of its public working groups (mainly the Reference Architecture and Taxonomy Working Group) and then as a program associate. He currently leads the Cloud Metrics Public Working Group, which is part of the Reference Architecture and Taxonomy Working Group. The group is developing a model to define cloud metrics.
Joel J. Fleck II (joel[dot]fleck[at]hpe[dot]com) is Global Head Cloud Computing Standards and head of Standards for the Americas in the Global Technology Program of Hewlett Packard Enterprise. In this role, Joel has served as a Board Director, executive, chief architect and lead contributor in numerous standards groups and activities including TeleManagement Forum, WS-I, OASIS, OMG, INCITS Cloud38 and ISO/IEC JTC1 SC38. He currently serves on the Executive Board of INCITS and as Convenor of the JTC1 SC38 Working Group on Cloud Interoperability and Portability.
Recent research activities focus on the definition of distributed, context-aware, adaptive management architectures for distributed Cloud environments using a model-driven approach driven by business visualizations, the use of semantic reasoning across ontologies to verify feasibility of inter-domain relationships, and the development of Traceability Maps, a tool which graphically represents the relationships between software artifacts throughout the software lifecycle.
Prior to joining Hewlett-Packard, he spent 16 years at Bell Laboratories and Bell Communications Research researching distributed management systems, multimedia networks and automated test systems to validate digital communications systems, and at Stochos, Inc. as a software architect and designer.
Joel graduated from the University of Michigan with a MS in Industrial and Operations Engineering specializing in large-scale system design and the University of Vermont with a BS in Computer Science with coordinate majors in Electrical Engineering and Environmental Engineering. He is Distinguished Fellow of the TeleManagement Forum.
Dr. Pramod Varma is currently the CTO for EkStep, a not-for-profit creating learner-centric, technology enabled platform to improve applied literacy and numeracy.
He is also the Chief Architect and Technology Advisor for Aadhaar project where he is responsible for entire system architecture and strategic technology decisions. He joined UIDAI in 2009 as part of the founding team and has been pivotal in ensuring an open, scalable, and secure architecture is built to meet the needs of Aadhaar project. In addition, he sits on the advisory board of National Payment Corporation (NPCI), Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN), and several technology startups. He regularly speaks at technology conferences and events and participates in advisory groups of various national projects from time to time.
Over the past 20+ years, he has studied architectures spanning from mainframes to web and has worked extensively with most programming languages and databases. He has researched and taught various courses in Database Tuning, Distributed Computing, Internet Technologies, and Computer Architectures among others.
Pramod holds a Master’s and Ph.D. degree in Computer Science along with a second Master’s in Applied Mathematics. His main areas of interest are Internet scale distributed architectures and intelligent systems. He is passionate about technology, science, society, and teaching.
Dr. Manish Gupta is Vice President at Xerox Corporation and Director of Xerox Research Centre in India. Previously, Manish has served as Managing Director, Technology Division at Goldman Sachs India, and has held various leadership positions with IBM, including that of Director, IBM Research - India and Chief Technologist, IBM India/South Asia. From 2001 to 2006, he served as a Senior Manager at the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights, New York, where he led the team developing system software for the Blue Gene/L supercomputer. IBM was awarded a National Medal of Technology and Innovation for Blue Gene by US President Barack Obama in 2009. Manish holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. He has co-authored about 75 papers, with more than 6,000 citations in Google Scholar in the areas of high-performance computing, compilers, and virtual machine optimizations, and has been granted 19 US patents. While at IBM, Manish received an Outstanding Innovation Award, two Outstanding Technical Achievement Awards and the Lou Gerstner Team Award for Client Excellence. Manish serves on the leadership team of IKDD, the ACM India Special Interest Group on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining, and was General Co-Chair for IKDD Conference on Data Sciences 2015. He is an ACM Fellow, a Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering, and a recipient of a Distinguished Alumnus Award from IIT Delhi.
Dr. Rathan Kelkar is an Indian Administrative Service officer of the 2003 Batch. With over 11 Years of experience and penchant for serving the society, he truly believes in contributing his best with an approach to cater the last man and last mile in the line of service.
He is rooted to the Kerala cadre of the IAS and is an alumnus of the Bangalore Medical College. During his stint in the State of Kerala he has held various positions and responsibility in the departments of Revenue administration, Information Technology, Tourism and Municipal Administration.
He holds the proud privilege of being the first recipient of the “Best District Collector Award” instituted by the Government of Kerala in the Year 2012. He is currently on deputation to the State of Karnataka as the CEO, Centre for e-Governance and is instrumental in driving important e-Governance initiatives and aiding in bringing Governance to the fingertips of the citizens.
Dr. Nelaturu Sarat Chandra Babu obtained his B.Tech from J.N.T.U. College of Engineering, Kakinada, M.Tech from REC, Warangal, and Ph.D. from IIT, Delhi. Presently, as the Executive Director of C-DAC, Bangalore, Dr. Sarat is leading the teams with R&D projects in the areas of Cloud Computing, Grid Computing, High-end security solutions, Realtime systems in Power Sector; Heritage Computing, Hybrid and Ubiquitous Computing. He is responsible for launching R&D activities in Information Security specifically in the areas of end system security, Malware research, SCADA Security, IOT Security, DNS Security and co-ordinating for many projects in the above areas.
Prior to this assignment, Dr Sarat was the Director of C-DAC, Hyderabad Centre. He was responsible for establishing the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing, Hyderabad right from the scratch and transforming it into a vibrant Research, Development and Training centre.
Dr.Sarat was on the faculty of Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering at REC, Warangal (Presently NIT, Warangal).
He worked for the R&D in switching of Indian Telephone Industries Ltd., (ITI) and contributed to the First digital exchange of India. He worked in various levels at the Department of Electronics, Govt. of India (Presently Department of Electronics & Information Technology).
His research interests are Electronic Circuit Fault Diagnosis, Embedded systems, Cybersecurity, e-learning etc.
Cloud for Scientific Cloud and Grid to Cloud interface solutions are being developed under his supervision. He has organised workshops on Cloud Computing and delivered expert talks on Cloud Security and related topics during many events and conferences.
He has published number of papers in various National/International Journals and conferences. He is a Senior Member-IEEE, Fellow-IETE & Member in ACM, CSI and travelled abroad widely on different assignments and also a member of many technical committees.
Prof. Debabrata Das is serving as Dean – Academic and R&D as well as Hewlett Packard Chair Professor at IIIT-Bangalore (IIITB). Before joining IIITB, he had served at G S Sanyal School of Telecommunication at IIT Kharagpur and later at Kirana Networks in New Jersey. At present he is Principal Investigator (PI) of a project from Department of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India on Green Broadband Wireless Network and Nokia Research on IoT. He was PI of sponsored projects from Intel, Hewlett Packard, Microsoft, Motorola Research, Nokia, Govt. of India on areas of IMS, Broadband Wireless MAC/QoS/Energy-saving and TVWS. His main areas of research interest are Wireless Access Network's MAC, QoS, Power saving and IP Multimedia Subsystems. His areas of teaching interest are, Wireless Access Network, Mobile Computing with IMS, IoT and Internetworking. He has more than 85 peer reviewed papers in different journals and International conferences. His 7 patents are under review. He and his wireless network team had contributed three ideas to IEEE 802.16m Broadband Wireless Standard. Dr. Das received his Ph.D. degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. He is Chairman of IT-Service Management Forum India (itSMF) and Vice Chairman of IEEE Bangalore Section, Board Member of IIIT-Bhubaneswar; Technical and Empower Committee member of e-Governance, Govt. of Karnataka; Board member IT Dept. Govt. of Odisha. Dr. Das is Fellow of IETE and Senior Member IEEE. Dr. Das is recipient of Outstanding Volunteer Award IEEE Bangalore Section and Global IEEE MGA Achievement Award.
Hing-Yan LEE PhD is Director of National Cloud Computing Office at the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore, where he oversees the national programme in cloud computing. Under his purview are initiatives such as grid service provisioning, SaaS incubation centre, cloud innovation centre, SaaS Enablement Programme, Technology Evaluation Programme, Data-as-a-Service Programme, cloud services bulk tenders for government agencies, development of cloud security standards, CloudAsia as well as collaboration in Open Cirrus. Prior to this, Hing-Yan was Deputy Director of National Grid Office at the Agency of Science, Technology and Research as well as Principal Scientist at the Institute for Infocomm Research. He also held senior management and technical positions at Kent Ridge Digital Labs, Japan-Singapore Artificial Intelligence Centre, Information Technology Institute (applied R&D arm of the National Computer Board) as well as two high-tech start-ups.
Hing-Yan is VP of Cloud Computing Chapter and Fellow (Singapore Computer Society), as well as member of Cloud Computing Standards Coordinating Task Force (IT Standards Committee). He was an Adjunct Associate Professor in National University of Singapore, member of School of Digital Media & Infocomm Technology advisory panel at the Singapore Polytechnic, served on the NatSteel Corporate R&D advisory panel, Singapore National Archives Board, Australia-Singapore Joint ICT Council, and co-chair of National Infocomm Competency Framework (NICF) technical committee on Cloud Computing.
He graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in USA with PhD and MS degrees in Computer Science, specializing in artificial intelligence and software reuse. He previously studied at Imperial College London in UK where he obtained a BSc (Eng.) with 1st Class Honours in Computing and MSc in Management Science.
Dr. A. S. Ramasastri is the Director of IDRBT, an institute established by Reserve Bank of India for Research and Development in Banking Technology and the Chairman of IFTAS, a company promoted by IDRBT for providing technology and allied services to financial sector. In his current assignments, he has been leading the initiatives of IBCC, Indian Banking Community Cloud for providing cloud based services to both commercial and cooperative banks. Cyber defence, Analytics, Open Sources are some of his other important areas of focus.
Prior to joining the Institute, Dr. Ramasastri was the Chief General Manager-in-charge of Department of Information Technology at Reserve Bank of India. In the RBI, he has spearheaded many important projects including the implementation of the Next Generation RTGS, guidelines on shared resources, adoption of international standards like XBRL and ISO 20022, conceptualizing and guiding of banks on Automated Data, and preparation of IT Vision of RBI for 2011-17. His initiatives of XBRL and ADF have been globally recognized and has received "Award of Excellence" from XBRL International.
Dr. Ramasastri authored two books titled 'Quantitative Methods for Valuation of Assets' and 'Quantitative Methods for Banking and Finance'. The former has been published in Chinese too. He has to his credit several articles on Finance, Banking and IT in eminent journals and newspapers.
He has guided the Bank of Mauritius, Bank of Malaysia and Bank of Uganda on implementation of Data Warehouse, XBRL, etc., and delivered talks on standards and technology for data reporting at the International Monetary Fund and Bank of International Settlements.
Dr. Ramasastri holds a Ph.D. in Finance from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras and was the top ranker in M.Sc., (Statistics) from Madras University and B.Sc., (Statistics) from Loyola College, Madras. He has also attended Advanced Management Programmes at the University of Oxford and Kellogg School of Management.
Dr.Debabrata Nayak has completed his PhD in wireless security from IIT Bombay. And has been working on security domain in last 21 years. He has been working in Huawei Telecom as Chief Security Officer. Oobtained Masters degree from NIT Rourkela, specialized in Elliptic Curve Cryptography and Internet security. And rated as Topper. Covering wide areas such as Security system Performance evaluation, Design of secure cryptographic system, Wireless Security policy design and implementation. He designed Security solution for INFINET (Indian Financial Network for RBI).IPv6 migration of INFINET.IPv6 Security for Indian financial network with C-DoT ,Leading IPv6 migration and security strategies in Huawei platform development for various products, cloud security, Currently guiding Enterprise security, Consumer security and Mobile broadband security(MBB). Working on privacy of user content. Spoke more than 100 conferences in India and abroad on network security ,Information security ,Cyber security.
He has presented 62 papers in international conferences and technical journals. He was active member of STIG (DoD) . He has worked with Motorola as Senior Security Architect, Reserve Bank of India as Information Security officer, and with Tata Elxsi as Security expert. He has extensively worked on LTE Security and WiMax Security. He was consultant to various financial institutes for implementation of standards such as BS7799 and ISO 17799. He was also involved in Ministry of Communication and IT of India for Secure mCheque project in IDRBT.Recently presented 10 Cloud computing security Paper in ITU,CJK korea, China and various international conference India like ASSOCHAM Cyber security conference,wireless vitae,Nasscom DSCI.
He was the Head of Patent /innovation Huawei India, He is the member of CII Innovation group.He is a Chairman of Global ICT Forum of India SIG.He is Co-Chairman for Assocham Cyber Law and IT act 2012, Chairman for Huawei Senior security Expert Management Committee, 2012 International Association for Cryptological Research member, Motorola information assurance forum for 3 year, WiMax Forum (GWRG Group), LTE Forum (BWA Group), 3GPP SA3 Security, Cloud Security Alliance, IEEE Security and privacy and Cryptology Research Society of India , and Key member in ITU SG17 Security (Cybex- deals country specific Security), He is a member of Security Working group of TEC (DOT) NWG 17, He is a member of Assocham National security Group. Currently founding member in TSDSI cyber security group. And a certified lead Auditor of ISO 27001 :2013 from British standard Indtitute (BSI)
Kishor has over 38 years of experience in various aspects of design support & technology consultancy in the field of electronics & ICT. After a brief stint in Design, Industry & Academics, he started narnix in 1981 to act as the “Technology Interface” for the Industry, Business and Society. narnix is one of the pioneer “Independent Design Houses” in India, engaged in design & technology consultancy, providing complete Design & Development Support to Electronic Products & Systems Manufacturing, as well as Solution Deploying Organizations.
Since early 90’s he has been actively instrumental in providing design solutions & support to some of the leading business houses in the fields of Internet of Things, Smart Grid, Smart Metering, Smart Homes, Smart Buildings & Smart Cities; thus trying to make our earth a Smart, Green & Secure Planet.
He has over 200 research & design mentees in the STI (Science Technology & Innovation) and ESDM (Electronics System Design & Manufacturing) Ecosystems.
Along with being member of many Standardization Sectional Committees in BIS in Electrotechnology, Electronics, Telecom & even Civil, he is the Convener of a Panel by BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) on ‘Smart Infrastructure’ focused at Standardization & harmonization with global SDOs on unified & secure ICT backbone for Smart Infrastructure.
He has been contributing in Global Standardization Activities as an Expert & National Committee (BIS) Representative in IEC, ISO, ITU & IEEE to help evolve Standards & Standardization Roadmaps in the fields of Smart Cities, Smart Infrastructure, ICT, IoT, Sensor Networks, Communication Technologies, Smart Manufacturing, Smart Energy, LVDC, Microgrids, Electric Mobility and Active Assisted Living etc
His current focus is to develop Framework, Architecture & Standards for end-to-end unified & secure ICT Infrastructure for Smart Cities.
Prashant Shukla is National Technology Officer for Microsoft in India. Over the last 25 years, Prashant has held senior leadership position in both, USA and India, spanning across a host of disciplines - marketing, sales, product management and software development. At Microsoft, Prashant held number of important assignments that included driving Microsoft’s eCommerce Initiative, running Microsoft Developer Initiative and later as General Manager, working in Microsoft IT India.
In India, Prashant led CMC Limited, a well-known Tata Enterprise as its Chief Operating Officer. Under his leadership, CMC resurged to new heights, reaching newer customers, becoming more profitable and attaining higher stock price and shareholder value. Prashant also worked at TechMahindra/ Mahindra Satyam as Senior Vice President. Prof. Moona is also a Professor of Computer Science at IIT Kanpur and has taught a number of courses at IIT Kanpur, both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and has supervised several postgraduate theses. He along with his students and National Informatics Centre has defined the Key Management System and layout of the data in smart card used by various government departments. Dr. Nanjangud C Narendra (NCN) has joined Ericsson Research Bangalore as a Principal Engineer. Prior to joining Ericsson, he worked in MS Ramaiah University, Cognizant, IBM Research, HP India and Motorola India. He has about 22 years R&D experience in the Indian IT industry. Dr. Vijay Srinivas Agneeswaran has a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science & Engineering from SVCE, Madras University (1998), an MS (By Research) from IIT Madras in 2001, a PhD from IIT Madras (2008) and a post-doctoral research fellowship in the LSIR Labs, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne (EPFL). He has recently joined as head of distributed computing in the big data practice group at SapientNitro. He has spent the last ten years creating intellectual property and building products in the big data area in Oracle, Cognizant and Impetus. He has built PMML support into Spark/Storm and realized several machine learning algorithms such as LDA, Random Forests over Spark. He led a team that designed and implemented a big data governance product for a role-based fine-grained access control inside of Hadoop YARN. He and his team have also built the first distributed deep learning framework on Spark. He is a professional member of the ACM and the IEEE (Senior) for the last 10+ years. He has four full US patents and has published in leading journals and conferences, including IEEE transactions. His research interests include distributed systems, data sciences as well as Big-Data and other emerging technologies.

Prasanna Anantharamaiah is Cloud Chief Technologist at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, responsible for driving Cloud business in the Asia Pacific region. As a Cloud evangelist, Prasanna has conducted many cloud and IT Strategy workshops for large enterprises and Telecom service providers. He works closely with senior executives and define their organization’s Hybrid cloud road-map.

Prof. Y. Narahari has a Ph.D. from the Department of Computer Science and Automation, IISc (1988). He has been on the faculty of CSA since February 1988. The focus of his research in the last decade has been to explore problems at the interface of computer science and game theory. He has just completed a textbook entitled "Game Theory and Mechanism Design" brought out by the IISc Press and the World Scientific Publishing Company. He is a fellow of the IEEE and a J.C. Bose Fellow of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. He is a Fellow of INSA (Indian National Science Academy), IASc (Indian Academy of Sciences), INAE (Indian National Academy of Engineering), and the National Academy of Science India (NASI).

Veena’s research interests include inter-sectoral water allocation, threats to freshwater from local to regional to global scales, impacts of climate change and urbanization on water resources, sustainable water management policy and practice. She leads several interdisciplinary research projects that combine field hydrology, low-cost sensing, citizen science, and simulation modelling to understand and find solutions to critical water problems.
Veena received her PhD from Stanford University’s Emmet Interdisciplinary Program in Environment and Resources. As a post-doctoral scholar at Stanford, Veena was instrumental in developing a framework for a Global Freshwater Initiative at Stanford. She later worked as a Senior Research Associate at Pacific Institute, a renowned think-tank on global water issues. Prior to this, Veena worked for several years in the private and non-profit sectors on energy, water, and forest policy issues in India.

Sudhira has a PhD from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. His research interest centres on how towns and cities evolve. His research has been primarily on land-use and land cover change studies exploring their consequences on environmental sustainability and understanding their inter-relationships with resources and transportation. His broader research addresses the evolution and growth of towns and cities invoking complexity sciences, understanding planning practices and studying the effect of governance. Geetha Manjunath heads the Data Analytics Research Laboratory in Xerox Research Centre India (XRCI). As a Senior Manager and Center Planner, she leads and mentors a group of enthusiastic machine learning and analytics researchers towards delivering innovative solutions in healthcare, transportation, education and customer care.
Geetha has about 25 years of research expertise in IT industry and has proposed and lead multiple research projects in data analytics, crowd sourcing, cloud computing, semantic web, mobile and distributed computing. Before joining Xerox in April 2013, she was a Principal Research Scientist and Research Manager at Hewlett Packard Labs India. . She was also the winner of the 2010 Grand Challenges for Technologists, posed by MIT Technology Review under Healthcare Category, She is the author of a book on Cloud technologies titled “Moving to the Cloud” published by Elsevier Syngress Publications in Dec 2011, which is used as an Engineering college text book. She is the Chair of the Big Data Working Group and an Executive Council Member of the IEEE Cloud Computing Innovation Council for India. She holds six US patents and many more pending grant. She is a gold medalist from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore from where she holds a Master’s Degree and PhD from Computer Science and Automation Department.
Professor Anurag Kumar obtained his B.Tech. degree from the Indian Institute of Technology at Kanpur, and the PhD degree from Cornell University, both in Electrical Engineering. He was then with Bell Laboratories, for over 6 years. He returned to India in 1988, and has since been with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, on the faculty of the Department of Electrical Communication Engineering. Before taking over as the Director, on 1 August 2014, he was the Chair of the Electrical Sciences Division since 2007. From 1988 to 2003 he was the Coordinator at IISc of the Education and Research Network Project (ERNET), a UNDP and Government of India collaborative national program that established India's first wide-area packet switching network.
His area of research is communication networking, specifically, modeling, analysis, control, and optimisation problems arising in communication networks and distributed systems. Recently his research has focused primarily on wireless networking. He has been elected Fellow of the IEEE, the Indian National Science Academy (INSA), the Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE), the Indian Academy of Science (IASc), and The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS). During the period 2005-2009, he was an area editor for the IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking. He received the IISc Alumni Award for Excellence in Engineering Research for 2008. He is a J.C. Bose National Fellow, awarded by the Department of Science Technology, for the period 2011-2021.

These end-to-end solutions integrate with specific Research Areas within TCS and other co-innovation partners.
Surender has more than 32 years of experience in various aspects of Information Technologies, starting with research on communication protocols for communication controllers and messaging systems. Al these efforts evolved into IT and Strategic consulting for large enterprise solutions in India and other Asian countries.
During all these years, Surender worked on many domains (shipping, telecom, banking) with large time spent as Chief Architect of enterprise-wide solutions for Government Sector. With Government generally being behemoth engaged in many domains, he designed solutions for Postal, Airport, Passport, Police, Immigration, and Security systems for various aspects of governance.
As part of industry bodies such as CCICI as well as initiatives on Digital India and Smart Cities, he is currently engaged in defining standards and enterprise architectures for Smart City and Smart Village. Considering complexity and scale, many components of these solutions are designed to run on shared platforms provided as Service in Cloud Computing Ecosystem.
Besides being IEEE member, Surender is also engaged with Gartner, Forrester and NASSCOM.
Prior to joining TCS, he worked with EDS, DEC and Intelligent Communication Networks.
Mr. Suhaan Mukerji is the founding partner at PLR Chambers and one of the foremost public policy and regulatory affairs lawyers in India. Prior to founding PLR Chambers, Mr. Mukerji set up and led the Policy and Regulatory Affairs practice group at Amarchand Mangaldas (one of the leading law Firms in India) with an overall experience of 11 years. He has also worked at Amarchand’s Mumbai office in corporate M&A and capital markets teams and as an Analyst with the World Bank Group. In the past, he served as an Expert Advisor to the Advisor to the Prime Minister on Public Information Infrastructure & Innovations. Suhaan has a B.A. LL.B. (Hons), National Law School of India University, Bangalore and an LLM from London School of Economics.

He has been a strategy implementation consultant to MNCs and Indian firms such as GE, Cisco, LG CNS, Weir India, METRO Cash and Carry, Mahindra FES, AFC.
Professor Raghunath is on the Board of Directors of National Venture Capital Fund, India Satcom, K Two Technologies, Weir India and HAL-Tata Joint Venture and ex-officio member of the IIMB Board of Governors. He is a Registered Consultant with the Office of Project Services, UNDP, New York.

Rao has been the public face of WiMAX in India, since 2008, when he became the (honorary) Chairman of the industry-led, not-for-profit WiMAX Forum in India even while he was Managing Director of the WiMAX Programme at Intel for India, South Asia and Middle East. The Forum has aggressively promoted WiMAX as the broadband wireless technology of the future for India – particularly against the background of the recent auction of BWA spectrum. Shyam Kausal, regional director, India, Wimax Forum, has been reported saying Rao will continue to work for the Forum since this is an honorary post. He has however left Intel.

Prof. Dinkar has 27 years of experience in industry, including at IBM T. J. Watson Research and CTO at HP STSD, Recipient of IBM Corporate Award and several Patent Awards, He has 24 publications and 26 patents & he is the Author of 2 books: “Multimedia Servers” and “Moving to the Cloud”. Currently he is the Professor, Dept of CSE,PES University & Director, Center for Cloud Computing and Big Data.
Since October 2012 Pamela has been working as the Founding Chair and then the Vice President the CLOUD COMPUTING INNOVATION COUNCIL of India, a not for profit society. CCICI is an open forum bringing together technology experts across industry, academia and government to collaborate and innovate around Cloud Computing Technologies, with the twin objectives of:

Pamela did a short stint at HP Enterprise Group R&D Lab in 2014/15. as the Director of the Advanced Systems Engineering Lab involved in development of next generation data center infrastructure.
From 2007 to 2013, Pamela held various positions in the IBM India Systems and Technology (STG) Lab. As Director of the Technology & Semiconductor Lab and later the Storage and Networking lab she helped establish globally integrated labs working on cutting edge technology and product development in the areas of nanotechnology, processor & ASIC technologies as well as mid-range and high-end scale-out NAS storage and FCoE networking solutions.
From 1999 – 2007 she held various positions at Texas Instruments (TI) India. As Director of Cellular Systems SW she was a key leader in creation of a $2.5 B business around single chip cell phone solution for emerging markets. As General Manager Broadband she led the PacketCable (voice over cable) solution development to create a $100 Million business. She holds 3 patents associated with Networking Accelerators.
Pamela was the first ever appointee from India in the IEEE Standards Association – Board of Governors, as the Member at large for 2011/12. She also held the position of Chair for IEEE Computer Society and in the executive committee of IEEE Bangalore Section. She is currently driving Industry Relations for IEEE Region10 and is a member of the IEEE Charles Steinmetz Committee.
Pamela brings with her an experience of 30+ years in the communications, computers and semiconductor industry. She spent the first 10 years of her career at AT&T, Bell Labs in USA and at C-DOT in Bangalore. Pamela completed her Bachelor of Engineering from Punjab Engineering College in Electronics & Electrical Communication & her Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Rutgers University, USA. She has also completed her Executive Management Program at the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, India.
Abhijeet Lele is currently associated with Corporate Research at Robert Bosch. He specializes in Pervasive Computing, with focus on semantic technologies and information exchange protocols. He has over 20 years of industry experience working in different domains of Wireless Networks, Telecommunication networks and Context aware computing.
Dr. Balamuralidhar P is a Principal Scientist and Head of TCS Innovation Lab at Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (TCS), Bangalore. He has obtained Bachelor of Technology from Kerala University and Master of Technology (MTech) from IIT Kanpur. His PhD is from Aalborg University, Denmark in the area of Cognitive Wireless Networks. Major areas of current research include different aspects of Cyber Physical Systems, Sensor Informatics & Internet of Things, Cognitive Computer Vision, Mobile Interactive Sensing and Model Driven Security.
Dr.Balamuralidhar has over 28 years of research and development experience in Systems for Signal Processing, Communications and Cyber Physical Systems. He has over 100 publications in various international journals and conferences and over 40 patent filings, out of which 20 have been granted. He has co-authored several book chapters and was a guest editor of an International journal on ICT. He was part of the winning team of Tata Innovista awards, twice. He has delivered several invited talks, panel discussions and part of technical program committees of several leading conferences. He is also a senior member of IEEE.
Narayana is a Senior General Manager at National Institute for Smart Government (NISG). NISG is a consulting firm pioneering e-Governance projects in India in partnership with private sector to drive technology transformation of government. Narayana has over 15 years of experience with last nine years in leading management & technology consulting engagements. He has led engagements in Conceptualization, Strategic Planning and Design of Technology Transformation Programs (National e-Governance Projects) across various domains: Education, Defence, Public Security, Civil Aviation and Corporate Regulation.

Bharadwaj Amrutur is a Professor in the ECE Dept and the Chairman of the Robert Bosch Center for Cyber Physical Systems at IISc Bangalore. He obtained his BTech from IIT Bombay and his MS and PhD from Stanford University. His current research interests are in systems engineering aspects for large scale distributed systems.
Kiran DB is the Director of Solutions Sales for Microsoft India, based in Bangalore. As the Director of Solution Sales, he leads a team of specialists across the country in areas of Online Services, Private Cloud, Application Platform, Public Cloud solutions etc. He is also responsible for key relationships with customers and partners across the country.
Prior to his current role, Kiran was the Regional Director (Enterprise Group) in West region for Microsoft India. As Regional Director of Microsoft, he led strategic planning, Sales Operations and key growth initiatives for one of the largest regions for India. Previously, served as the Regional Director for South region, where he led business management, sales operations, marketing and services. Among his many notable accomplishments, significant improvements in customer satisfaction, enhanced regional integration and record sales growth. He joined Microsoft in 2001 as a Major Account Manager, and over the last 13 years of association with Microsoft, he has held several key positions in sales and leadership since.
Outside of Microsoft, he served on the board of directors for a 2 startups and sales organizations, which is now relinquished to focus on family and Microsoft for the next 12- 18 months. Along with his wife, a finance professional, both of them continue to dedicate time for “girl child initiatives” and “visually challenged individuals” as a commitment to society.
Before Microsoft, Kiran started his career in Microland where he worked for 3 years and then an Engineering software applications company, now known as Siemens PLM solutions. He is a Mechanical Engineer from Mysore University and a management graduate from Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad.
He is an avid golfer and attempts to carve time for a round of golf every week, in his schedule and balancing time commitment to his daughter who is 12 years.
Mrs. Renu Budhiraja started her career with HCL in their R&D division. Subsequently, shifted to DeitY and worked on setting up the first Education & Research N/W in the Country (ERNET) & was responsible for introduction of Internet in Schools in India and first to setup & successfully run the messaging, directory and file transfer services across ERNET. Subsequently, shifted to E-Gov group & are contributed to Design, & implementation of Standards based Messaging middleware (NSDG), National Policy on Open Standards, Standards on Interoperability, metadata, Biometrics, eReadiness, etc
Currently, she is heading the State Data Centers & Cloud in the Country, and driving the Government of India’s National Cloud initiative (Meghraj), Citizen Contact Center initiative, National Appstore, Digital Locker under Digital India, Rapid Replication & Revamping of Applications, Collaborative Application Development Platform etc.
She has done her Engineering in Electronics and Communications from Delhi College of Engineering.
Manoj Sarangi heads the Information Security Globally for HCL Technologies and its affiliates. Prior to joining HCL, he was with Aditya Birla Group where he was the group CISO & Technology Head for the 45 Billion+ USD conglomerate. Earlier, he headed Privacy and Information Security as the Chief Privacy and Security Officer for IBM, South Asia. He has over 18 years of experience focused in various areas of Information Risk and Data Privacy. Manoj also has worked in various leadership roles in large organizations like HP and Deloitte during his career.
In his current role, he is responsible for Cyber Security, Incident management, Security standards and certifications amongst his key accountabilities.
Manoj is an active member in various industry forums and also has been associated with Cyber Security initiatives of industry and regulators. He was part of IAPP (International Association of Privacy Professional) advisory board, which drives various privacy certifications globally. He is an active member of a number of global security forums and regularly speaks in various events.

Mrs P.R.Lakshmi Eswari, is presently working as Joint Director, e-Security R&D, C-DAC Hyderabad. She is currently involved in the Research & Development of end system security solutions, embedded security and mobile device security. As an outcome of R&D efforts solutions like USB Pratirodh, AppSamvid, Browser JS Guard, Malware Resist etc. are developed by their team. She is associated with C-DAC for the past 16 years in various R&D projects and training activities. Earlier she worked as lecturer at NIT Warangal for 2 years.
Siddharth Hande is a spatial data analyst by training. He is interested in social entrepreneurship, technology, the environment and urban planning in the developing world. He is the founder of Kabadiwalla Connect, an award winning social enterprise that uses IT to leverage the circuits of the informal waste ecosystem in Chennai (India), to ensure less recyclable waste is sent to the landfill.
Sandya Narayanan worked as a finance professional for close to two decades and has been working as a citizen activist in the area of Municipal Solid Waste Management for over 8 years now.
Sandya Narayanan is a member of Solid Waste Management Round Table (SWMRT)- a citizen group in Bangalore. She is an analyst and expert on economy of waste . She has extensive training experience, having worked with SIUD, EMPRI and CMAK.
Has been extensively involved in the policy advocacy area related to all aspects of Municipal Solid Waste Management with the BBMP, Lok Adalat since 2009 . She is a Member – Technical Committee DMA and has a deep understanding of the workings of the ULBs in the area of SWM. Co authored a paper on’ Waste Management Policies Strategies and Rules, published in the ICONSWM 2012, co authored ‘Working observation on DWCCs’ published in the ICONSWM2015.
Author, Quantitative Analysis of BBMP Submission on Costs on Solid Waste Management by SWMRT a document which carried out a data analysis and representation of the last five years of BBMP contracts and offered recommendations. The same was submitted to the High Court of Karnataka
Authored the ‘Contracts- Costing and Payment Methodology , Municipal SWM, Door to Door, Street Sweeping, BBMP’ a 3 part assessment study of the existing contracts by SWMRT. This formed the basis for the formation of the Working Group on BBMP SWM Contracts, instituted by the BBMP SWM Expert Committee.

Dr. Samar is currently working as Scientist in TCS Research Bangalore and the Vice Chair for M2M Workgroup at TSDSI. He is also the Visiting Faculty at IIIT Bangalore. He has more than 10 years of Industry and academic experience. He has obtained his M.Tech. and Ph.D. from IIT Delhi and IIT Guwahati respectively. Dr. Samar has worked with various software industries such as Novell Software, and Infosys Technology. He has also worked as faculty at JIIT, Noida and MCET, Rajasthan. He has delivered several invited and keynote talks, and being part of technical program committees of several international conferences. Dr. Samar has published various International Journals & conferences and filed several patents. His current research areas of interest include Software Defined Networking (SDN), Information Centric Networking (ICN), Offloading, M2M and multipath communication.
Srikanth Chandrasekaran (Sri) is the Director Standards and Technology, associated with the IEEE India office for the past 3.5 years with focus on key emerging technologies including IoT, Sensors, Smart Cities, Big Data, Sensors, Smart Grid, and e-Health. Sri also has a specific focus on standardization initiatives in India to engage the local technical community to the global IEEE standards development efforts.
Prior to joining IEEE, Sri was associated with Freescale Semiconductor Inc. (formerly Motorola Inc.) for 18 years, managing a global team focused on development of software tools and technologies in the area of Electronic Design Automation which included front end behavioural modelling of systems, physical verification and Electro-Magnetic Compliance Analysis.
Sri holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Madras University, India and a Master of Engineering degree in electrical communication from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India.
Siddhartha Nandi has extensive experience in leading systems software development; his interest includes distributed systems, especially storage systems, networking, storage security and application of Machine Learning in managing large scale distributed storage systems. He holds 15 US patents and has co-authored a number of research publications in international conferences. He is currently Director of Advanced Technology Group at NetApp Bangalore and also directs the University Research program of the company. He is a member of the board of SNIA India and a steering committee member of IEEE International Conference on High Performance Computing (HiPC conference). He holds Masters degree from University of Calcutta.
Prasant is a Scientist at the CTO Innovation Labs (Bangalore) in TATA Consultancy Services. He has a background in large scale systems, frameworks, and platforms. He performs research in low-power and energy efficient sensing/signal processing/wireless communication with a focus on system design for cyber-physical systems (CPS) and Internet of Things (IoT).
Prasant has many years of experience in technology development; and has worked in different roles and capabilities for: Keane Inc. (a unit of NTT Data Corporation), India; CSIRO ICT Centre, AUS; Red Lotus Technologies, USA; Robert Bosch Centre for Cyber Physical Systems (RBCCPS) @ Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore. His external engagements include visiting fellow/researcher/visitor at: TEC-TIK ETH Zurich, iMinds-IBCN Universiteit Gent, Belgium; NICTA, Sydney AUS; and TIFR, Mumbai India. He has worked on a diverse range of projects; the outcomes of which have either resulted in commercial/open-source solutions, or publications in premier sensornet forums such as ACM/IEEE IPSN, ACM TOSN and IEEE Communication Magazine. He has received many awards/honors in recognition of his work, of which it is noteworthy to mention the AusAID (Australian Government) Australia Leadership Awards (2008), and the ERCIM Alain Bensoussan, EU Marie Curie Fellowship (2012). He has served on the organizing and technical committee of a number of international conferences/events. He is a senior member of IEEE, member of ACM and IEEE IoT SIG (Bangalore Section), secretary of IEEE Computer Society (Bangalore Section), and an Associate Technical Editor of IEEE Communication Magazine.
Prasant completed his postdoctoral fellowship from SICS Swedish ICT research labs in Stockholm (2013) and received his Ph.D. from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) Sydney AUS (2012), both in the field of computer science and engineering.
Sreekanth Iyer is an Executive Architect with the IBM Cloud (CTO Office) team and works on defining the technical strategy and development of IBM Cloud Security. He has over 21 years of industry experience and has led several client solutions for Telco, Electronics, E&U, Govt, BPO & Banking industries for IBM. He is an expert on Cloud Computing, Event Driven Architecture, Services Oriented Architecture, Java and collaboration Technologies and Information Security. He is an executive member of the Bangalore Chapter of Association of Enterprise Architects. He got his engineering degree from College of Engineering Trivandrum and his Masters in Software Engineering from BITS, Pilani. He is an Open Group Certified Distinguished Architect, IBM Master Inventor (9th Invention Plateau Holder), Certified Ethical Hacker and Member of IBM Academy of Technology.
A. Venkatesan currently heading the NIC Centre of Karnataka State Unit Shri A.Venkatesan is holding a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from IISC, Bangalore. Started his career as Senior Systems Engineer in NTPC, Delhi. Since 1985, he is working with National Informatics Centre, an organization instrumental in introducing e-Governance in the country. He is personally responsible for setting up the NIC, Karnataka State Unit and all the 30 NIC District Centres. He is coordinating the implementation of very large e-governance applications like computerization of engineering and medical admission(KEA), VAT Computerisation, RTO, internationally accomplished land records computerization(Bhoomi), the citizen friendly services in rural areas(Nemmadi) and many more critical e-Governance projects. Having a domain experience of more than 25 years, he is a very active member in many of the State level and National level committees on e-Governance.
Kshitij Kushagra is BE (Electronics and Telecommunication), MBA (Systems) and pursuing PhD. Currently looking after Cloud, Digital Locker and various e-governance initiatives at Ministry of Communications &IT, Govt of India. Previously he worked in Dept. Of Telecom(TERM) and BSNL. He did implementation of project - NKN, NOFN, SWAN, NMEICT, NGN network, Broadband Network, Wi -Max, Leased line/MPLS.
Srinivasan Ramakrishnan is an independent consultant in Technology and Management, in the ICT sector. He was formerly Director General of C-DAC. Under his leadership, C-DAC grew many fold and consolidated it's position as a leader in supercomputing, Indian language computing and grid computing, besdies undertaking R&D & innovation in a number of new areas of ICT. He was Founder and National Project Director of ERNET, the pioneering computer networking program which nurtured R&D in networking for over a decade, brought internet to India, serviced over 70,000 first generation users in 700 institutions and was a forerunner to commercial ISPs. 'Ramki' has served in Department of Electronics and IT for over twenty five years and has handled many responsibilities at various levels. He was in industry earlier, is a B.Tech and M.Tech from IIT, Madras and PGDBA from MDI, Gurgaon. He is a Board member of CCICI and Workshop Committee Chair of the current Workshop.
Cdr Manish Tiwari (Retd) has 28 years of work experience including 25 years in the Indian Navy where he set up the Information Security & Incident Response organization. His responsibilities included the formulation of Policy Frameworks, conduct of Security Audits & Product Testing, Implementation of Solutions, Cyber Forensics and IT Risk Management. As Director CERT-Navy. He was also responsible for managing, motivating, guiding and mentoring teams, in the course of building up the Information Security organization of the Indian Navy.
He is a qualified CISA, CISP, Lead Auditor, CEH, E|CSA, C|HFI and LPT. In his last appointment, he represented the Indian Navy at all National level Government forums, on issues related to IT security, for the protection of the National Critical Information Infrastructure.
After leaving the Armed Forces, he served in an IT Risk Management Firm handling the implementation, overall governance and Service Delivery of security services in the UID Aadhaar project and also a major telecom. In Oct 2014 he has taken over as the National (Information) Security Officer India for Microsoft Corporation.

Ignesius Thambyraj is a seasoned Software Product Development/Engineering Leader with about 27 years of industry experience in Enterprise Systems (Software), Cloud Infrastructure, High Performance Computing products and Heterogeneous Computing.
He has been Engineering Director at AMD for GPU accelerated solutions for Deep Neural Network and Embedded verticals. Established and led execution of IBM Server UNIX Development Lab, IBM UNIX Server System Assurance Lab, IBM UNIX Engineering Services Lab, IBM Server Performance Engineering Lab and High Performance Computing Lab at IBM Systems and Technology Lab in India. In addition, as Engineering Director, delivered multi-channel retail Point-of-Sale (PoS) solution with enterprise integration. IBM India leader for Customer Advocacy, interfacing with large Enterprise Accounts. Enabled significant sales for IBM Server products and contributed to sales. Contributed hands-on as architect and developer for IBM Virtualization, Networking routers and Operating systems for parallel computer products.
He has worked at IBM Raleigh, USA as technical lead in the development of networking routing protocol software and at IBM Boca Raton, Florida, USA as the lead in the development of IBM Virtualization Software.
Ignesius is also a founding member and Lead Software Architect at C-DAC for the development of India first Parallel Computer PARAM.

Bipin is the CoFounder and Director at Gaia Smart Cities, a start up in the IoT space aimed at city scale solutions. Before this he was with Reliance Jio where he oversaw new areas in the Enterprise Ecosystem and was responsible for all its Products and Platforms too. Earlier, Bipin has been part of 2 Mobile telecom related start-ups. He has provided solutions and deeply worked in new products with several mobile related companies in India as well as with telcos in SE Asia.
Bipin is also the Chair of the Smart City Group for TEC, DOT (Department of Telecom, Ministry of Communication and IT, Government of India) and the Co-Chair for the IoT for Smart Cities Task Force. He is a member of the National Working Group on International Telecommunication Union (ITU)'s SG on Smart Sustainable Communities and a permanent member of the panel on Smart Infrastructure at BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards, Government of India). He also leads the group on Smart Cities for Telecom Standards Development Society of India (TSDSI).
Academically, Bipin has a dual MBA from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service & School of Business and ESADE Business School and a MSc from University of Wales.

Mr. Ajayan is a professional banker par excellence. He has multi-dimensional banking experience and had wide exposure and expertise in diverse discipline. He carries with him vast knowledge spanning over three decades. His key areas of expertise include operations comprising branches & administrative offices,Compliance & Risk Management, Retail Banking & Information Technology . He is currently heading the Information Technology vertical in the Bank as General Manager & CIO since July 2015.
Mr. Mahendra Jain is the Additional Chief Secretary to Govt, Urban Development Department, Government of Karnataka. He was earlier a Zonal Development Commissioner,SEZs in Gujarat & Indiabulls SEZ in Maharastra, Ministry of Commerce, Govt of India. He has also been Private Secretary to Prime Minister in the past.
He was a Gold Medalist in BA in English Literature from Karnataka University, has a MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and a Masters in Public Management from Harvard and NUS, Singapore University.
Swarup Kumar Mohalik is a Principal Engineer in Ericsson Research, Bangalore. He has over 16+ years of experience in industrial research. Prior to joining Ericsson, Swarup worked at Intel, General Motors and Hewlett-Packard. Swarup's expertise is in the theory of automata, logic and formal methods. He has been working in the areas of formal specification and verification of real-time embedded software, model based testing and Machine Intelligence techniques, and their application to 5G, IoT and Cloud.
